..I can remember collecting movie one-sheets many, many years ago along with the lobby cards. Horror toys and Halloween masks, a student demonstration of special visual effects makeup techniques from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, authors from as far away as the state of Texas, zombies in all of their gorry glory walking around the stomping grounds of Night of the Living Dead, a T-shirt vender that has a reproduction of the original "ALIEN" poster art that I am tracking down after the show - I want that shirt so bad!! ..There were a few familiar faces behind the tables Actors Bill Moseley, Ken Foree, Leslie Easterbrook - All from "THE DEVIL's REJECTS", Tony Todd, and yes, even David Naughton - The "AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON" himself. That's just cool... ..Because of time restraints and prior commitments for Visions, we only took in the Saturday show which ended the night with a LIVE BAND {sorry to have missed that} and a cash bar - now were talkin my language!! We -did- catch the Horror Tattoo contest - lots o' great art out there walking around. Movie screening rooms of independent film premiers - I think your gettin' the idea... there was a bunch of things to see and do for any and all who would have an interest in Horror movies and zombies, celebrities to authors to nostalgia toys and posters, and yes - a "brain eating" contest {Tara really wanted to enter, but we were on limited time... and not hungry yet} ..GUESTS OF NOTE: Scott A. Johnson is the author of six fiction books, three books on true hauntings, and a plethora of short stories. His most recent books include Library of Horror's City of Demons and Library of the Living Dead's re-release of Deadlands. He is also the Paranormal Studies Editor for Dread Central (http://www.dreadcentral.com), a paranormal investigator, and all-around horror enthusiast. To find out more about Scott, his writing, or his other activities, visit his web site at: http://www.americanhorrorwriter.net ..I had a good time interviewing Scott. He is very detail oriented Lead Paranormal investigator and that is what we focused on: His best captured paranormal evidence to date. ..GUESTS OF NOTE: Bill Moseley was at his dealer table signing
autographs and chatting with his fans. I asked Bill a few questions
about his portrayal of "Otis Driftwood" in both HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS. He was kind enough to give us some insiight on his portrayal of this character that basically stole both films. Performance wise, in my opinion, Moseley truely expanded and refined his performance, going from morbid comic to manic seriel killer, and Bill himself expands upon this critique rather insitefully and Visions thanks him for his time: I told him I would only need -a minute- ...I took -FIVE- ...sorry Bill.
..We here at Visions wanna thank Sandy for her hospitality and a great event that we were fortunate enough, if only for a few hours, to have a good time on a late Saturday afternoon. We can't wait for the next one. ..OFFICIAL HORROR REALM SITE: ..http://www192.pair.com/lifeless/HorrorRealm/home.htm
